FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 5, 1999Micronetics Awarded Microwave Sub-Assembly OrderHUDSON, NH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- October 5, 1999--Micronetics Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ/NOIZ) announced today that its Micronetics/Components Group has been awarded a significant order to supply high reliability generic up/down converters which will be incorporated into an advanced ground- based radar system. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2000. Dave Robbins, Senior Vice President, stated "This is a continuation of our effort to move up the food chain to supply more microwave sub-assemblies, integrating several of our microwave components into subsystems. While we have increased our backlog of microwave component sales, I have been especially interested in getting orders for microwave sub-assemblies, competing against companies such as Herley/General Microwave, Remec and Filtronics. This is an example of our success at this strategy." Based in Hudson, NH, Micronetics Wireless designs, manufactures and markets noise-based test equipment and components used in the design, testing and manufacturing of cellular, PCS, wireless local loop and satellite equipment and the MicrocalTM line of built-in test components, through its Micronetics/Equipment Group, and manufactures microwave components and subassemblies primarily used in radar, electronic counter-intelligence, wireless communications and electronic simulation applications through its Micronetics/Components Group. Micronetics acquired Microwave & Video Systems, Inc. of Danbury, CT, Vectronics Microwave Corporation of Middlesex, NJ and the voltage controlled oscillator product line of Delcom, Inc. of Salem, NH, earlier this year. Statements in this press release contain forward-looking material. Actual results may vary due to a number of risks and uncertainties and should be viewed in conjunction with Micronetics Annual Report for its fiscal year ended March 31, 1999.
